The MIT Club of New York and MITArchA (the MIT Architecture Alumni Affinity Group) are proud to present a happy hour event for Course IV alumni in the New York City area. This will be an opportunity to connect, socialize, and learn about the great work that MIT graduates are doing in the city. Registration for this event can occur through the Club of New York website or through the MITArchA website.
This will be set up as a Pecha-Kucha style event. Interested registrants will be able to give short presentations of their design work to a local alumni audience. Each participant will be allocated 20 images, each for 20 seconds. The images advance automatically and you talk along to the images. If 20 images is too onerous, feel free to make it 10 images, each for 20 seconds. The key is to keep it light hearted and present something you love. It can be something you have worked on during IAP, professional or academic work, or research topic you are passionate about.
Presentations should be formatted as Microsoft Powerpoint files, with 10 or 20 slides, timed to 20 seconds each. Presentations should be proportioned at 4:3 (10 inches by 7.5 inches). Files should be 15 MB or smaller. Students and alumni interested in presenting should send their files to Matthew Chua (email@example.com) by the evening of January 29.
While this event is primarily geared towards Course IV alumni, this event is open to all members of the MIT community who are interested in the built environment. Special thanks to Melissa Marsh M.Arch ‘04 and WeWork Charging Bull for generously providing space for this event.
